The distance value from the App recorded trail does not seem correct

Have you recorded a route where the original displays a shorter or longer distance than you believe you actually did?
Distance is always approximate, calculated according to:
- The coordinates saved by the device's GPS chip.
- An algorithm that uses an approximation of the earth's curvature.
If you record a route that was already recorded with the same device, the distance should be similar, but as coordinates are slightly different, they will not give the exact same distance each time it is recorded.
It is also possible that the trail was recorded with a poor recording quality due to:
