Add or Remove a Trail Buddy

Trail buddies are friends who were with you following a trail.

How can I add or remove a trail buddy from one of my trails?

You can add or remove a trail buddy on one of your trails by following these steps:

Add a trail buddy

1. From the Wikiloc website, click on the drop-down menu at the top-right of the screen and then click on Your profile.
2. Find the trail on the list of Your trails.
3. Click on Add trail buddies.
4. If you already have trail buddies from other trails, the system will suggest them to you, and you will just need to click on Add. If you still don't have trail buddies, type their Wikiloc username or email to find them.
5. At the bottom-right of the page, click on Save.
6. Your friend will receive an email to confirm. Once confirmed, they will be added as a trail buddy.

The shared trail will only be visible on your profile, as it was recorded and uploaded from your account. To avoid duplicates, it will not appear as completed on your trail buddy's profile.

You can see all the trails completed with other users in the Trail buddies section.

Remove a Trail buddy

1. Hover over Added.
2. Click on Remove.

How can I request to be a trail buddy on a friend's trail?

You can request to appear as a trail buddy on a friend's trail by following these steps:

1. On the website, go to the trail where you want to appear as a trail buddy.
2. On the right side, under the weather information, click the link I’ve navigated this trail.
3. Click the Add me button in the I did this trail with (your friend's username) section.
4. Your friend will receive a request. Once confirmed, you will appear as a trail buddy on the requested trail.
