Send trails from Wikiloc to your Polar

Follow a Wikiloc trail from your Polar

This article shows you how to import a route into the Polar Flow web service and use it on a training device.

Requirements:

Download the trail

  1. Find the trail you want to follow on the Wikiloc app.
  2. Tap the Send to your GPS button and then Send Trail as File.

  1. If you have an iPhone: The app automatically converts the trail to a standard format (.gpx).
  2. If your smartphone is Android, you will need a file manager. We recommend File Saver (an app you can download from Google Play).
    • Choose the "File Saver" app.

    • Save the file to the folder of your choice on your mobile.

Open the trail from your Polar

  1. Sign into Polar Flow: https://flow.polar.com/
  2. Go to Favorites by clicking the "star" icon in the top right corner.
  3. Click Import route.
  4. Click Import to start the upload.
  5. If the imported file contains several routes, choose which route to import.
  6. Name the route and pick a sport. You don’t have to specify the sport for the route yet; you can choose it when you start the exercise on your training device.
  7. Click Import. The route is then added to your Favorites.
  8. Sync the route to your training device with Polar FlowSync software. For instructions, refer to the user manual of your training device.

NOTE: If the route is long, it will be compressed into 500 waypoints when you transfer it to your training device.
