Send trails from Wikiloc to your Polar
Follow a Wikiloc trail from your Polar
This article shows you how to import a route into the Polar Flow web service and use it on a training device.
Requirements:
- Have the Wikiloc App downloaded on your smartphone.
- Have a Wikiloc Premium subscription. How to get it here.
- Have a compatible Polar device: Grit X and Vantage series.
- Have a Polar Flow account: https://flow.polar.com/
Download the trail
- Find the trail you want to follow on the Wikiloc app.
- Tap the Send to your GPS button and then Send Trail as File.
- If you have an iPhone: The app automatically converts the trail to a standard format (.gpx).
- If your smartphone is Android, you will need a file manager. We recommend File Saver (an app you can download from Google Play).
- Choose the "File Saver" app.
- Save the file to the folder of your choice on your mobile.
Open the trail from your Polar
- Sign into Polar Flow: https://flow.polar.com/
- Go to Favorites by clicking the "star" icon in the top right corner.
- Click Import route.
- Click Import to start the upload.
- If the imported file contains several routes, choose which route to import.
- Name the route and pick a sport. You don’t have to specify the sport for the route yet; you can choose it when you start the exercise on your training device.
- Click Import. The route is then added to your Favorites.
- Sync the route to your training device with Polar FlowSync software. For instructions, refer to the user manual of your training device.
NOTE: If the route is long, it will be compressed into 500 waypoints when you transfer it to your training device.
