My Garmin requests a "Firmware Update"

Wikiloc App for Garmin asks you to update the firmware but you already have the latest version?

Some Garmin devices have firmware version synchronization issues.

Try upgrading the watch with the Garmin Express application.

Once signed into the App, follow these steps:  Express Software, Register, update and sync your device with Garmin Express

If it continues asking for an update, we recommend you follow these steps:

  • Windows:
    1. Plug the GPS device into the computer
    2. Turn on the Computer
    3. Open the Garmin drive
    4. Open the Garmin folder
    5. Delete the GarminDevice.XML file
    6. Eject the GPS device from the computer
    7. Power on the device
  • Mac:
    1. Plug the GPS device into the computer
    2. Open the Garmin drive
    3. Open the Garmin folder
    4. Delete the GarminDevice.XML file
    5. Eject the GPS device from the computer.

Once your device has successfully powered on it will automatically create  the new  XML file. You can then reconnect your device to the PC.
